The most important thing to remember is not pay anything in advance! This piece of travel advice can be said for anything. The internet has revolutionized the way people shop and buy merchandise. When you buy items online you always will pay for the item before receiving it. However, when booking a travel deal online, make sure you look for red flags, like the following travel advice points out.

These are in no particular order but should all be taken very seriously!

    2. Transactions are made via courier service rather than a post office
    3. Transaction can only be carried out by telephone
    4. Offer is for a “limited time only”
    5. Different names for travel provider and seller
    6. Hotel names, airlines or other vendors are not disclosed anywhere in writing
    7. A price far below market value
    8. Offers to make you a “travel agent”
    9. Hints of “split pricing”
    10. Frequent use of words such as “free” and “complimentary”
